I’m a FB SWE intern. I’m European (non EU). I really like it here in London, especially the city. I was thinking about my next career moves. I’m coming from a not-so-rich European country, so UK salaries are way better than what I was previously used to. I am still working, so I am unsure if I’m going to get a return offer - but I think it’s going well so far. My goal is to maximize savings, and climb the career ladder. I’m in a serious relationship, and I’m planning to start a family in a few years. I see that London, Zurich, Munich, Berlin, Dublin, Amsterdam are popular choices, but what about Scandinavians - Finland, Norway, Sweden, and nearby countries like Estonia and Denmark? What are the tradeoffs? London seems amazing so far. All major companies have offices here, meaning the competition is rising and pontentially the pay is going to get bigger. From what I’ve seen so far, Google Zurich is a popular choice, too. The pay is much higher (according to Glassdoor) than FB, and Zurich seems like an ok place to start a family. I also want to factor in my GF’s job opportunities - she’s in bioinformatics (master student). What do you think? #london #europe #zurich
Living in London, Berlin or Amsterdam is great. Bay Area is ridiculously boring as is Zurich. Stay in London.
Come to Bangalore India. Companies here are paying 150k $ for 4-5 years of experience and it is incredibily cheap. You can potentially do anything with that kind of money in india.
There number are wrong for 4-5 you may get only max 20Lakh inr per year

Before selecting a country, please see the packages in each country and the amount of tax employees pay on them. You will see USA is far far better than European countries in terms on TC (pre or post tax). Only thing extra is paying for Healthcare, which is not that much in the end
Education is expensive in the US. This needs to be factored in. Plus vacation etc.
True, well in the end, it's not dream land. Every pro, may or may not have some cons
