I have an offer for FB DS Analytics and I'm not sure I should take it. I'm currently an MLE at a smaller firm with comp that's about the same (high 300s), but a growth path that's not clear (i.e. I don't know if I can make more money where I am). The DS Analytics role seems like a weird step if I want to stay as MLE - is it worth taking it so I get the FB name and am in the door or should I decline try to interview for an eng position, which I may not get? #fbanalytics #fb
Can I DM you for resources to prep interview?
Yep, happy to help. I won't tell you the questions I was asked, though, as they make you sign an NDA.
Sure, no real questions needed. Just the resources you used to prep and type/pattern of questions asked
Yeah Ds analytics is not close to mle. May be you can ask your recruiter to help find right team. Since you already passed the bar they may help you find the right team but you will have to interview again for those teams as there will be different requirements for both roles. What level are you offered and yoe and tc pls
5 YOE, L5 (I thought I might/should get L6), and between $350k and $400k
How long did it take for getting your offer after onsite interview
OP, I also have an offer on hand, can I DM you to compare notes? Looks we might have very similar offers
Sure!
Hi OP and Intuit! Congratulations on the offers! I have an upcoming onsite for DS analytics and any prep resources/recommendations will be of great help on many grounds! Can I DM you?
Hi OP Congrats on the offer! Can i DM? I have an onsite coming up
Did you end up taking the role? How are you liking it so far compared to MLE work?
I did not end up taking the offer. It was a pay cut that ultimately I wasn’t willing to take.
What level are you joining at and are you interested in management?
I'm at the very upper end of L5 and, yes, I would be interested in management
In that case it seems like a pretty good deal? Since you have MLE skills you can always do a transfer interview after a year.
