Why?
Because they can afford it and retain talent
Higher salaries are just because of higher barrier to entry. Anyone can code at FB, including myself tbh and I'm a shitty engineer myself who could not even get a return offer at FB. But I know if I came in as a new grad with bootcamp I might not have struggled as much. And also think of this, anyone can get a high GPA at elite schools if enough work is put into classes. The only thing here again is a high barrier to entry, which is why elite school students are favored so much more.
OTOH, Amazon is toxic as $hit, and also pays like $hit.
Lol..
Because people want more money...then when company says ok we give u more money and niw show us more work , then people say they were entitled to more money but they will not work more... lol
My coworkers and I always thought of it as โguaranteed overtimeโ.
I feel among FANG, facebook will be the first one to announce mass layoffs
MSFT is just well below market.
Little of column a, little of column b
I think itโs because of poor WLB and high stress work environment.
