FB offer evaluation

Got an offer from FB for an Enterprise Engineering IC4 role in the bay area. This seems a bit low. Recruiter said this is the final offer. Should I go for it ? Base: 170K Bonus: 17K RSU: 300K over 4 years Sign on: 30K TC: 262K Current TC: 242K YOE: 7 years

Didn’t know EEs make this much

So you're saying this is a solid offer ?

It looks like a solid SWE offer

Congrats! How was the onsite? I have one for the same role soon.

Dematic uQSF73 OP Nov 4, 2021

Onsite wasn't too hard. All coding problems were LC medium and included in the FB collection on LC. For design, make sure you go through all designs in "grokking the system design interview"

Good to hear! I’ve been prepping mostly medium and easy problems, and a hard here and there.

Looks good for EE offer

Congrats on offer! Off topic - could anyone give me a tldr of EE role in comparison to SWE?

TrueCar slashy Nov 4, 2021

There are a few different threads if you poke around, but essentially it’s an engineering role that works on internal tools. I’ve seen people here say that the pay is almost the same as for SWEs except RSUs are a little lower

Carta louuhj Nov 4, 2021

Interesting I would have assumed the role/pay is the same but just internal products vs external products. I thought it was referred to as Productivity Engineering or something. Thanks for the note! I did not see a difference between role/comp vs internal product vs external product at msft
