Should I move to Florida and start a small business to help with expenses. I am mainly looking to quit tech and do something else. 3M NW is that enough for lean fire in FL?
Somebody high on bath salts is going to eat your face in FL.
Tell me you don’t know anything about what Florida is actually like without telling me
Tampa is cleaner than Seattle. San Francisco and many other big cities. Leas.homeless and less crime
Which part of FL? Makes a big difference cost-wise.
East of Tampa. Riverview brandon, brandenton etc...
not in miami or fort lauderdale or tampa or really even orlando, but everywhere else yea definitely
Like where
jacksonville comes to mind, near the spacex launch center as well. Uhhh yea those are the two off the top of my head
Don’t go to Miami or Orlando. Jacksonville, Tampa, Clearwater, St Petersburg etc are amazing and great for raising family as well. You can do well at 3M in Florida and theirs is a small business economy so lots of incentives aligned if you have a decent business in mind. Remember, you can earn close to half of what you make in W2 and still build the same net worth because of all the tax benefits, write offs etc you can get/claim.
I would ban Tampa as well Source: lived in Tampa most my life
Jacksonville is a shithole. +1 for Tampa.
There are the parts of Florida that don’t completely suck, and they are expensive. Then there are the other parts of Florida… and you don’t want to live in them for any amount of money. Source: me, a florida man
What parts do you recommend? What parts should be avoided?
Central Florida isn’t bad in cities like orlando, tampa, jacksonville. Avoid Miami like the plague. Also don’t stray too far from cities, it gets deliverance country real fast, especially in the panhandle.
Houses are cheaper. But having been here a month, cost of living is almost the same as other hcol cities like Seattle
You’re not retiring.
??
What’s wrong with Orlando? It seems to have growth, decent airport and reasonable COL. Schools aren’t top notch, but not terrible either. Yes, traffic is bad, but that’s true in any growing metro area Blindtax: $1m, 22yoe, looking to move to Orlando
2024 is the year of recession. Best time to start business.
No way. Strong economy for the next 6 years.
Oh common Fed stopped increasing rates and you still think about recession ?
