155k base. 300k equity / 4 years. 10% bonus if meets expectations. No signing bonus. Total comp is $245,500. This is after negotiation. 3+ yoe from no name company full stack engineer. Menlo Park. Good offer?
Typical
How is this a typical offer when there is no signing bonus? Ask for a signing bonus.
Because TC is what counts.
Standard. 50k or so more equity and some sign on is possible with competing offers.
Solid offer but you should be able to get signing bonus. In theory base can go up to 160 or 165 and stocks can be higher but only with competitive offers
I thought E4 usually caps out at 160k base and 300k equity?
Pretty sure the soft max is more like 160/400/100. I’m E5 and got 190/600/70 btw which was soft max aside from sign on. I’d definitely aim for a larger sign on since you have nothing right now. That should be the easiest to move up. Maybe more equity too if you can. The best negotiating power is the willingness to walk away + other great options.
What was offer before negotiation?
225 total comp
What was the break up?
3 YOE from no name and not happy with 245k. Yikes.
This is like the 100th FB thread he's posted as well asking the same damn questions. I'd worry about meeting expectations if I was OP.
I never said I’m not happy. If u were in my shoes you would try to milk as much money as you could too.
Typical. I dont think you can go higher. Most people only get E3 with only 3-4 Yoe
Typical offer.
What could be the max?
