TC: 235ish more details that were asked: 170 base 37.5 rsu per year 15%

Hey op - curious what tc is at ic5? Is this DS analytics or analyst role?
Can you share your prep strategy in detail? Please also mention areas you were already strong at.
Honestly there was no gaming the system so to speak. It was an interview that focused on tangible impact made and critical thinking. “What would you do if you had x metric in y situation?” A lot focused on your thought process. I was strong but not great at sql.
I don't know about the usual RSU for analysts but it looks low. You can surely negotiate for more RSU.
Probably could have. I stopped after a couple back and forths.
Thanks for baseline. I’m in DS Analytics IC5 pipeline. Any sense yet how these jobs actually differ? Do analysts report into Eng? The job reqs are basically identical. Anecdotally seems the DS title gets you maybe 10-15% more more comp.
Don’t lowball yourself.... I think DS analytics l5 can go up to $300k (I think that’s upper hand though) unless levels is lying. Twitter what is your role there? Are you DS? Twitter DS seems more ML than FB DS?
Range for IC5 DS analytics seems like it was $250-300k pre-COVID. I was expecting OP probably outside range because of analyst title, but useful to know that delta. I’m an Analyst. Not qualified for Twitter DS, they tend to me more ML and research heavy. I could maybe finagle my way in there but it’d probably take me a year plus.
Hey OP, how do you feel about the team? Does it make impact? Is it easy to transfer to DS position?
Congrats on the offer, can you please break the tc by base , what is the expected base salary range for these roles - data analyst . Business analyst. Is expecting base salary of 130k reasonable for analyst type roles at fb with 3 yoe. Also what skills do you have apart from sql, bi tool. Are you good with python , R and maths?
Updated with some more details on tc. I have a masters in stats / DS. I’ve got 12 yoe total in other types of roles but 4 in DS. R is my only other good skill but got working knowledge of a handful of other languages but nothing serious. SQL is the main tool but communication/impact is what got me the job.
Op curious why you didn’t go for DS if you have a strong background? Pay is higher isn’t it? And title doesn’t mean much but might as well get the DS title if the interview and job are comparable
