I spoke with recruiter and he mentioned that it's going to be programming(Python ) plus networking interview. I never given the programming/scripting interview before. Any suggestion for preparation. I know python but not expert. Any help would be appreciated. Also wanted to know the work-life balance at Facebook on network infrastructure related position. Any help would be helpful.
Any other input from Facebook people ?
You'll be tested on your scripting to see how well you know both scripting and how good you are at solving a problem. If you don't know the details of how to code or need to google a module. So be it. But you should have a solid understanding of how to take a complex problem, break it down into steps and how to solve those steps. At least at a mid to high level. Study python if that's what you don't know. There is a level of expectation that everyone within networking had some scripting abilities. Some are stronger than others but you should be able to automate boring portions of your job. There are a few really solid talks by the network teams at nanog that can be found on YouTube. There is also the neteng code group on Facebook that is a solid resource for learning.
Thanks for the valuable input
They asked me about Bgp states, influencing traffic, tcp internals, and basic L2 questions.
Thanks man.
How did it go? I know this post was from a long time back, just checking.
Same position is open again, any updated information to the question above?
