40+ considering joining FB. I might look at things that young folks do not care that much. 1. Does FB offer HDHP thus for me to open an HSA? If so, how much seed money and how much is the deductible? If not, say for PPO and EPO, what insurance companies? (I am with United Healthcare right now and quite happy with its networks) how much do you pay biweekly for a family EPO? Any copay and deductible? 2. Does FB offer after-tax 401K? If so, any limit on how much you can contribute to after-tax portion (obviously the total of before-tax + company match + after-tax <= 5X K per IRS)? Does it allow in-service withdrawal? Frequency? Or the money has to stay in 401K? Can I rollover to Roth 401K in that case? As a comparison, I am quite happy with Oracle’s after-tax 401K. It allows unfettered in-service withdrawals to my Roth IRA. As for limit, I think it is up to 15% of salary.
For 401K, does FB offer those Vanguard index funds? Oracle offers the popular Vanguard funds and 401K contribution is up to 55% of salary (40% pretax and Roth, 15% after-tax). Quite a good plan I would say.
Yes, there are a bunch of Vanguard funds you can choose from. Pre-/post-tax contribution match is 50% up to 7% of salary.
Thank you sir. Much appreciated your info.
What broker does FB use? Fidelity?
Yeah.
FB has one of the best 401k plans ive seen. They pay all maintenance fees and a lot of funds have subsidized expense ratios.
Match is trash tho, only 3.5% of base
Thanks for sharing the 401K info. I think I have a pretty good idea now. Anyone could chime in for my first question, regarding HSA and health care in general?
If i join mid year and lets say my base + bonus is 100k, So for half year I earn only 50k. Is the 401k match on 50k or full 100k ?
No HDHP. Ppp and epo deductible is 250 for single and no premiums. Goes up to $100 for a family with dependents. Family deductibles are 500? Copays are standard. Probably the second best healthcare plan I’ve ever had. Would love a HDHP option tho.
Where was the best
@ctMu21: for the $100/paycheck, is it for EPO? With $500 deductible, that is about $3000/year. It is great, but probably not excellent. (For single, zero-premium is definitely outstanding.)
Does Aetna EPO offered by fb has good network of hospitals in Seattle? What's most popular option among ppo and epo?
Thank you for sharing some real info on here for a change!!
What is the IRS contribution limit on pre-tax + after tax + company match? Having a hard time finding an official link on IRS site. Can someone share the link?
If you’ve maxed out 401k and match at one company and switch to FB during the year, can I still contribute to 401k and get the match?
No.
Not to pre-tax since that is an annual personal limit. but I believe you can contribute to post-tax. Is there IRS annual limit for that?
2. Yes, up to $25k per year. It allows for unfettered in-service withdrawals to your Roth IRA as well.
Would there be any charge on rollover 401k money to Roth?
Nope
