https://www.theverge.com/2019/1/17/18186990/facebook-portal-amazon-reviews-fake-employee-5-star-astroturfing Of course this may not be true, but what's wrong in having a little fun?
Why not use those shadow buyer services
“at least three of the roughly 100 five-star reviews for the Facebook Portal all match the names of specific Facebook employees” This is news? 🙄 I’ve seen my teammates at another company review our own app, too. I know they did it on their own accord, it was lame, and who cares. These people are well-meaning and likely expressing genuine opinions. There’s a conflict of interest, though, and they should disclaim their relationship with the company or refrain from writing anything. But then again, this is news? 🙄
If I helped build the device, and was proud of it, I’d leave a good review too.
They couldn't buy Portal at the company store and used their real names in their public Amazon profiles?! This is so Facebook :-)
Big deal. Who cares. It's more common than you think.
Should I consider this as official acknowledgement?
