Facebook end of hiring season?

I'm a new PhD graduate and currently considering engineering positions at FB, however the recruiter urged me to do interview soon as "we are close to the end of hiring season". Is that true? Could anyone give me some idea on how FB headcounts work and what is the intuition of the recruiter? PS the recruiter doesn't specify the location yet, it could be either one of bay/NYC/Seattle

Seems like a recruiting tactic to meet quotas

Edited. Thanks

Yes you better hurry up. Spot for new grads are limited and filled up fast. Not sure for PhDs tho. You are coming in as E4

Alright, thanks for the info

Yes. I accepted offer recently. They stopped hiring E3 and maybe will stop E4 as well, for Q1.

Recruiter told me. It’s not a secret.
