Facebook recruiter told me there's a hiring freeze for people before 5 year mark. Is this a "you're not quite good enough for us to interview right now but we want to keep you on the line for as long as we can"? My friend has an interview but is more experienced and qualified. Is there any way to get around this? Get a competing offer and then ask for interview? Get more referrals, etc?
Hahaha definitely not.
The ol' it's not you, it's me excuse.
Thought so. SAD!
I have 2 yrs experience and recruiter scheduled me for L4 onsite loop in the near future lol. This is BS.
Depends on location. This is certainly true in Seattle
No it’s not.
It's not
A freeze is more like “we are focusing more of our energy on experienced devs than juniors atm”
Tactics for other tech companies to try to drive candidates away from what is in my opinion an amazing place to work
My friend heard this from a recruiter in nyc?
Nyc maybe
Had the exact same conversation with a Facebook recruiter yesterday. They said they will get to know the new head count early next year and will get in touch by then.
Not true, teams already know the 2019 head count. I'd share but this sounds so much like attempts to leak information.
This headcount release early next yr (or already been released), does this only apply for Seattle or across the board?
