The agency told me it will be $90-$100 an hour. No stock. W2. No overtime. The range seems low to me. Is that what vendor workers are getting? 18 month senior engineer role.
The agency engineers make only half of regular engineers in terms of TC. Does that mean the agency employees are not Facebook material? If so, why would Facebook risk having those second rate engineers mess up their code base?
It depends on organizational appetite for engineering quality and also business critical ness of the code base. Hiring vendors can be much faster to bring on than FTE SWEs. Plus the vendor engineer might be managed by some FB FTE SWE so they can try to maintain a little bit of quality.
