No one here respects TPM so get ready for trash comments

The sad part is, a good TPM is critical for success. Hey, Engineers, unless you want to schedule meetings, coordinate between groups and chase after spoiled entitled know it alls who over commit on everything which you get rated on their lack of delivery while you have no authority or control over getting the engineer to do much of anything as the engineers leaders ignore you, STFU and treat others who are assisting you with respect. I have not done the TPM role, but I give respect to the TPM that are good because they are one of the few roles that indeed adds value and impact (there are competent TPM, I work with many of them regularly). They are extensions of any well run organizations to keep the gears turning and ensure GSD is actually occurring. Let’s turn this around from the perspective on f dealing with Engineers and wondering what value many of them bring (I’m a former dev myself and it’s offensive the state of engineering nowadays)... I ask for a new feature or application (even make a nice preso with an actual business case to justify; that’s called experience) and annoying spoiled inexperienced engineers all say far too busy to even consider at all, ok, pitch headcount to cover dev (takes forever to hire and may but survive) or a 3rd party solution. Sudden uproar because how dare anyone not allow the brilliant engineers with 2 to 6 years experience (possibly all from FB only) to not be brilliant and someone pitches 3rd party evil incompetent, but well supported with extension pipelines of new features and its bern evaluated and back channel reviews from connections elsewhere are it really does everything it says it does and what is needed for is niw, right out of the box and... it has a damned good and well documented API (of course you gotta get the PITA security team to act like arrogant know it alls to remind us how important they are and approve too). Ok... fine, let’s nicely ask the butthurt brilliant engineers who could create the 3rs party app that has 10 years of dev with 100s if devs on it in a week by themselves (they just need time to focus on it) if they can deliver.. oh crap, dreaded accountability coming, noooo not at Facebook! Can they deliver a basic working app at FRS (first release to ship) with minimum features within 9 months project start and then FRS+1 six months later for additional features and FRS+2 six months after that and so on for more features and... the only response is you get asked what FRS means since no concept of basic rudimentary Product Management exists outside of hardware (where it’s absolutely required with that level of time and investment; used to also do hardware roles too, decades ago)... you put into the business plan it actually has to be well documented, maintained with SLA and build the damned architecture (bad word at FB - oops - I meant ‘design’) thing so someone else can support it (that means actually read to maintain your crappy spaghetti code that manages to pass lint and be approved by a fellow hand picked brogrammer) and... yes, it can be extended easily and scales up too! What? You’re all way too busy over the next 18 months? Why didn’t you say so in the original meetings weeks or months ago... and since no budget to add headcount this half or next half as all the different orgs pit fight with department level finite resource (another bad word; FB values its employees, until it doesn’t) allocations that are given out like any other company I’ve been at, by how well you get along with those above and smoke their pole and table dance shaking it until you make it. Ok, how about the evil 3rd party that everyone, well, accept the f’ing engineers, all thinks is a perfect fit? And... engineers realize they can’t say no since they can’t commit without getting dinged on PSC so they reply, it could be considered but, what about <add some trivial BS requirement to derail it>... queue a start over with the politics of getting almost nothing done, blocked by bottoms up engineers who are not held to account with arrogant immature inexperienced leadership with no experience outside of FB mud interpreting WTF our actual mission really is, which is to GSD. But we are MOVING FAST, between useless meetings.
