I’m trying to find the fastest path to becoming a data scientist. My current role is a Business Analyst but I want work that is more challenging and has higher TC. I’m taking classes at DataCamp.com but don’t know if that will be enough since I’ve heard most data scientists have a PhD. Does anyone have suggestions on what to learn or do to become a data scientist?
I’d add SQL to the list and a data visualization tool like Tableau. A good data scientist can communicate their models and insights to a less technical audience well. Not all positions require a PhD since not everyone is inventing new shit. Sometimes you just maintain old shit.
