It depends. We didnโ€™t acquire Snapchat early enough and were criticized for this (because Evan Spiegel was charging way too high a price of $10B at a very early stage), but were able to crush it with Instagram Reels. We couldโ€™ve done that to Instagram too. Remember: hindsight is 20/20.

Instagram and snap are fundamentally similar services though, FB couldn't just adopt Instagram's features. The brilliance was seeing how much of a threat it was before anyone else and acting quickly.
