Feedback after Paypal on-site

I had gone through the interview process for an SWE role at Paypal, the on-site was a little over 3 weeks ago. Overall, it felt like I did very well throughout each step, but after the last interview I didn't hear anything from the recruiter. I followed up again after about a week and she asked if I had some time that afternoon to chat, which usually seems like a good sign. However, after providing my availability and a little back-and-forth... nothing. No call happened and my follow-up on the next day went ignored. After a few more days, I sent another follow-up and was told there would be an update for me the next week. Another week went by and then I received an automated rejection email on a Sunday. I sent another follow-up asking for feedback, etc, and got a reply stating that my interview feedback was great and they're looking to find another opening that fits my skills and experience. With recent layoffs, maybe their needs have changed, and are no longer recruiting for the role but I can't help but feel like I'm just being strung along here and the lack of transparency is frustrating. Has anyone been through a similar experience at Paypal and ended up with an actual offer? Or does it sound like they're just BSing me? #paypal

I interviewed with paypal 7 months ago. First interview was with frontend engineer, received feedback after two weeks that I did very well. I was invited for second interview shortly after 1 1/2 months lol with a backend tech lead, received a feedback after one week that I did well on this also. Then silence. After about a month I was invited to an onsite with the panel. By this time, I had already received several offers as well as accepted one (not AMEX). I did not respond to paypal. Off of all the places I interviewed, PayPal has to be the worst of any recruiting out there, and the interviewers were somehow asking me pretty dumb questions, but they seemed nice. Make it what you will from this.

Similar experience with me I cleared one team specific onsite without recruiter only manager and didn’t accept the offer Beacuse of the manager who is the most unprofessional one after that again I tried to interview to in a recruiting pool Recruiter said lot of openings available Interview done 4 weeks ago feedback was positive told my recruiter Then he said team matching is going on Then said hiring freeze and no reply yet Worst experience ever that I had paypal is so inconsistent being a large org.
