I’ve tried everything I can think of to get through what has been a grueling burn out from getting disciplined about staying hyper focused during the day and shutting off work at 7PM, going for more nature walks, therapy, finding a hobby (painting, snowboarding, meditating). But I feel unbearably exhausted every time I’m 6-7 months into a new job. This isn’t the first time so I suspect something about corporate life wears me down - a lot of politics, racial micro aggressions, tedious paperwork, meeting new people remotely, etc. I’ve looked into starting small side hustles to get out of this rat race but I’m so exhausted everyday that I end up just “consuming” (Netflix/takeout/shopping) before passing out in bed everyday after work and on the weekend. Any tips on how you stay in the game, succeed enough to keep growing your salary in a positive direction or fully vest your options, while still maintaining your sanity? Grab a🥃 and chill.
My plan for the weekend. Can't wait to get shitfaced.
Not gonna lie I’ve been drinking more often after joining my new job. And it’s like I can’t wait till the weekend comes to let’s loose or let go a little bit…. This feels like it’s not right.

Company?
culture could be a factor
Curious to understand your rationale
there are certain cultures that are not as fun to work with because of various circumstances. it's all about titles and who is above who in the organization . and if above you they can become demeaning. no humor either so work just becomes stressful. not saying it's a 100% but many a time. politics and them looking good for a performance review is all they care.
Delegate? You are probably having back to back meetings each 15 minutes all day and you don’t even know what’s the next meeting about?
Wow directors also feel burned out? I thought all they do is attend meetings and make our life hell.
That's how it is from DoorDash, DashMart - the New Business Verticals teams. The Directors, Operations Managers, including Site Managers (who are mostly on site at the warehouse). All they do is isolate themselves in an office to attend meetings or doing interviews.
Are you mentally disconnecting at 7pm as well? Or just physically? Just let go.
In the same shoes
I feel the EXACT SAME WAY. I burn out at about the same time. I've tried to deal with it by consistently switching jobs every 18 months to 2 years.
Does it work tho?
I've always made more money. The burn out doesn't end, just kinda resets. There's a period of learning interesting things about the company and its customers. I also am a pretty productive person, not necessarily at work. I have a side hustle. Long term i will deal with this problem through having enough real estate to replace the income from my job. N then do what i find interesting because i want to

It sounds like u need something else to do/look forward to. I would say get into weight lifting
Lifting is pretty taxing on your body though for someone who’s already burnt out
