I graduated in 2020 with a bachelor's in computer science. Ever since i graduated, I am working at a high pace startup in india. The team i am working with is small and all engineers have to take ownership of all elements of the product they are working upon. I was initially assigned taks on fixeing bugs, which i was able to do pretty quick and effectively. Gradually i was moved to bigger project where i had to take accountability of a component which is very important for the business. However for building the component i have zero knowledge about the tech stack and nothing is available in stack overflow or as videos on YouTube. My manager coaxes me again and again to speed up the development process. I see other graduates working with pace and meeting deadlines, whereas i always struggle to meet deadlines. They pay me far over the average dev salaries in india but I can't perform to their expectations. I feel I can't justify my salary. I contemplate being in the software industry even though i love coding. Please help me, I don't know what to do. #software #engineering #swe
People with 1yoe are supposed to be incompetent. Your manager is probably incompetent too and doesn’t have that excuse
