I have a couple of brokerage accounts with robinhood and e-trade. I usually invest in mutual funds (S&P500, QQQ, etc) and currently have $1.5M investment in those funds. I had a call with fidelity financial advisor today and he was pitching me to move some of my money (500K) to fidelity brokerage account so I can work with him on a regular basis for free. He will provide financial advises on tax strategies, etc. which I honestly don’t know anything about. Do you guys have any experiences working with Fidelity financial advisors? Do you guys recommend them? Any caveats that I should be aware of? would appreciate any insights. Blind tax: TC $850K #personalfinance #investments
Stick with your own strategy. If you want tax advice, pay an accountant. If you want investment advice, research by yourself or pay a fiduciary financial advisor.
I can recommend fidelity as an improved consolidated place to manage your portfolio. Fantastic platform with great support. No recommendation on financial advisors as I self manage. But do agree, find someone external who does not have incentive to lead you into high fee decisions.
If you want a financial advisor, get a fiduciary. Not someone with incentives for someone else.
