Hi Guys Has anyone tried Fidelity's tax harvest investing strategy? Lately, I got a call from Fidelity and they're promoting this "tax harvest management". Basically, this is what they're proposing. - they try to track the S&P500 index. - when the overall market deeps, they'll harvest the loss to save on tax or carry forward for the future. - they say they can track the index perf. while harvesting the loss along the way. - they'll manage all this customized for you with 0.4% fee. - I'm not sure whether the harvested tax loss can beat the 0.4% fee in a long run. anyone tried this?
Betterment is only .25% for the same service.
Yeah exactly. Nothing unique here except the higher fee.
Look up direct indexing. More brokerages are starting to offer it.
Betterment and Wealth front does it cheaper. Also their savings is 4.3 percent
They called me also, theyโre really pushing this and their hedged funds
No way this is worth 0.4%. Tax loss harvesting helps a little but this can usually be done by yourself. Google a tax loss harvesting partner for your index fund and check it every 1-6 mo depending on your interest. As others say if you really want this kind of management betterment or wealthfront is clearly better
