Hello, Converting from contract to full time at fidelity. Role: Senior software engineer Grade: L5 Location: Dallas Offered TC: ~150k (Base: 120, Bonus: 20k, Profit sharing:14k, 7% 401k match) Anyone joined fidelity recently In the same role ? Do you think base salary can be negotiated to 130k ? Does fidelity gives joining bonus ? Please advise Thanks #tech #salary #tc
OP: Contract to FTE generally gets lowballed. I think you can ask for 130k base and may be settle for 125k and ten keep interviewing may be?
For Fidelity L5, this is really good. Bonus should be 20% though, and profit sharing should be 10% of base (directly to 401k). That said, still should try to negotiate. Is this standard dev? Or some new tech involved, e.g. crypto etc?
Oh, and sign on is not typical, but can be part of the negotiation. More commonly though, it's something called Shares, that cliff vest in 2 years, and worth about 60-70 per share *right now*
Thank you for the inputs. I would definitely ask for joining bonus. It’s a standard dev project.
What was your rate as a contractor? Fidelity always lowballs contract -> fte, like others said. If you stayed contract, you’d only get 3% raise in rate, so just weigh your options.
It’s a decent offer. Try to go up high but if not it’s definitely a good offer for Level 5
Did you accept the offer? Were you able to negotiate to a better offer? I am on the same boat this month. I want to relocate to East Coast; Boston or Jersey City location. Wondering how much should I keep in mind for base salary for my desired location.
