Got 2 offers (Data Scientist), one from Fidelity, one from Roku. Both are in the same city (United States). Fidelity: Total comp: 250 k per year (Base: 180 k, Bonus: 70k) Roku: Total comp: 300 k per year (Base 270 k, RSU: 30 k per year) Worries about Roku: 1. The reviews I see here are confusing and some of them scary (fire and hire culture). Fidelity seems to have a more normal WLB and structure. 2. Fidelity made an offer right after the interviews, while Roku was back and forth for couple of weeks till they made final decision. Thoughts? #Fidelity #Roku #DataScience
Fidelity pays that much? Great offer
That base and bonus %, OP is definitely offered L8 in Fidelity (VP)
In this situation, I don't think that really matters since the Roku offer's base is above the Fidelity TC. If it were more RSU heavy then I think this would apply. Granted, that's just about TC, not company performance impacting future job security.
Fidelity is a financial company and financial institutions are known to treat IT like a commodity and generally expendable. So, take from that what you will. They're rarely engineering focused. Not sure about Roku, but I imagine it would be more so.
YOE and location ? Is this product analytics ?
Definitely Boston
What level is the role at Fidelity?
Never seen a 300k TC for DS at Roku. Take it.
Is the Roku offer for their senior DS role and how many YOE do you have?
YOE?

Screw it. Don't care anymore. Let Israel take it. One state solution.
Fidelity imo. TC isnβt everything in life. Think about the future prospect of roku va fidelity specifically in an economic downturn.
