any one of us would've done the same

Coinbase CWOg83 Sep 21, 2022

I would at least like to think that’s not true

"And Adobe initially offered Field more, the sources add, before the CEO settled upon a roughly even split with staff."

Do you really think his first employee worked 50% less than he did? Dude is not sharing his wealth with the people that put him there. What a douche.

Nice lesson for people who work hard for others startups

Amazon JBezosy Sep 21, 2022

Read carefully ! The 50% is not for the 20B$, it’s for the 2.3B$ stock compensation over next 4 years

Square vUVE23 OP Sep 21, 2022

Yes, that is clear from the title.

Goldman Sachs hikertry Sep 21, 2022

typical founder. may he flounder away all his wealth.

Ah...what's wrong? Rest of employees are going to get compensated based on existing stock and their market value. Dylan needs to be invested enough in Figma to retain other people on his team.

Uber XqMP74 Sep 25, 2022

realistically if dylan leaves, most of the people who make figma what it is will also leave, even if they have more generous retention packages. hard to put a price tag on working with such an effective and enthusiastic leader. unfortunate that the rich get richer (god knows another billion isn’t changing his life) but it makes sense given the incentives.
