Been at Amazon for a long time, looking to do something different and new. TC for both offers is similar to my current comp, I do not plan on staying at Amazon any longer (in a sinking org). Both Fintech and Healthcare excite me but will also present a learning curve and work environment change. For those wondering how much time it took me - 5 months, 300+ applications, 10 final loops and 5 rejections to land these two #pm #product #pmoffer #productmanagement
Also, please don’t vote for Amazon. Want to leave this toxic place for good
I feel health care has so much potential. Personal choice
Boo
Is the level at FIS and Novartis same? Also is the role at FIS an IC role (assuming Novartis is not)
You are right, FIS is IC but Novartis is not. So not exactly the same level
I’d go with Novartis
I would take Novartis over FIS. It gets you to the entry level of senior management. More decision-making than being a doer of things. If that's the career path you want to pursue. FWIW, this is what I am right now (Director of Product Management) and love what I do.
I’d take Novartis over FIS. The people management experience will definitely add value and learning over time. Congratulations!! What org at Amazon btw?
Novartis culture is much diiferent from amazon, they are quite traditional in outlook and quite slow moving
I have been told that, but not surprisingly you start craving that once you are burnt out in a breakneck fast moving culture. The traditional outlook seems to be changing, at least on the team and role for Novartis, they want to move fast on technology.
I’d take Novartis as it’s a more senior role and gets you into upper management and decision making. Health tech is also much more exciting right now IMO. However I’d use the FIS offer as well as your existing Amazon comp especially the equity you’d be leaving on the table to negotiate. I’m pretty sure Novartis can give you more equity and higher sign on bonus.
Thanks, I will do that. While Novartis seems to have some levers for Yr1 TC, I have a feeling that they mayn’t be able to match the FIS comp over a 3Y period.
Would appreciate if you have any pros, cons and watch outs for my consideration.
Are you PM ir PMT?
