I am thinking of switching to pharma industry, because I believe that the future is about health, and traditional finance is going on a decline. What do folks here think?
FinTech my friend.
Pharma doesn't pay well
But at least the wlb is good and your treated with respect? :)
Yes
Nope nope nope
Wait until after 2020 election before jumping to pharma. If all branches swing left, profits in healthcare are at risk across the board.
If things go leftwards then Big Tech and Finance are in bigger shit. GDPR type regulation will shrink Facebook, Google, Twitter and Amazon.
Mmmm I hear pharma is not fun, very regulated and moves very slow. Finance is different in that regard. If you want healthcare work for a hospital or a health company like CVS.
Drugs do make it to market despite the regulations. Where is the self driving tech that was promised during Google's IPO?
financial institutions are heavily regulated as well. consider how often they get sued. internal audit is always keeping a close eye on everything to ensure compliance. sox audits were a pain in the ass.
Biopharma - it truly is amazing to work somewhere that impacts health outcomes
i was in fintech for over a decade and moved to pharma...if it's not just about money, but a more purposeful job, make the move. neither industry pays that well in comparison to real tech, but saving lives is more meaningful than providing people different methods of paying for stuff.
Tech is just in a huge bubble at this point. We will see how long dumb investors at SoftBank and in Saudi will keep spending money on these so called AI innovators.
Pharma will empty your soul. Suck the life right out of you
Too true too often
Extremely true
Pharma 100%
