Got an offer from FireEye for a technical ops analyst position. Will be working on cloud tech. Help me evaluate. Yoe: 3 Location: Bay Area TC: (Base | Bonus | Stocks) Current: 100K | 3K | No stocks At FireEye: 135K | 13K | 100K/4yrs Definitely better than my current TC, your thoughts? #offer #FireEye #fire yecompensation #fireeyehiring #cloud #salarycomparison #salary #salary egotiation
“Egotiation” — I like that word. It’s like negotiating but with egos
Fireeye is a dead-end company, it’s just going through slow death..
What is FireEye?
What is Google?
Don’t go. They are very unstable company. Constant lay offs. their work culture is toxic. Poor benefits. And their stock is only going downhill. I suggest find some other company. You might get better offer especially in stocks.
I understand that it is unstable and I’m sad about that part. but I don’t know how I can refuse over 65% jump over my current TC. I get 103 K now. I will get around 170K. I don’t have any other interviews going on and it is difficult to land a new job in these times.
Ok. Short term it might be worth for a TC jump. But be prepared to find another opportunity. It’s a sinking ship. When I worked there the openly told that they are cutting workforce and moving most of jobs to low cost countries. I had some past experience with Fireeye and in my opinion is the worst company that I had ever worked for. I had a TC jump too in my past while I joined fireeye but if I looked back now I regret even moving there. It would have worth to wait to find another opportunity. Keep looking for opportunities even after joining fireeye and move as soon as you find a good company to work for
