Firms to apply in NYC that can offer 300k to L4?
Due to politics and cliff, need to leave G but at least want to get a raise. Recommendations for tech firms in NYC that can pay 300k to sde2? I know finance firms can (2s, js, hrt, etc). Obligatory 260tc 5yoe
I think that’s most of it, dude. Maybe Uber, Lyft and Facebook, but I think those are all your options. Maaaaybe Twitter.

You can try to get SDE3 at amzn. It's a long shot though because they hardly ever up level, but it possible. Otherwise finance firms you mentioned are your best option. They will actually pay more then 300k.
I heard sde3 at amzn is harder to get than sde3 at fb (due to leadership requirements etc). How much do those finance firms pay you think?
You are correct about amzn, harder to get and less money. I worked at AMZN before FB. Wide range a trading firms. I got one recently for 275k base + 50% bonus. So 412k TC all cash. I have 10 yoe. I know people with 600k offers. Though with your yoe, 300k is probably a good target.
Don't go to Amazon. The politics are much worse over there. Try FB or MS. (Not sure if MS has anything in NYC, but you can easily get senior position at MS)

Besides finance stuff you mentioned, FB Uber Lyft Snap can all offer 300k for sde2. Maybe also Square and Spotify but not 100% sure.

Basically promo is not in sight. Also my perf got impacted by politics thus my tc will go down next year due to lackluster refreshers.
