Now they are complaining they can't pass interviews and/or not having enough drive to pursue a tech career. Who am I talking about? Fun Friday night topic. *grabs a bag of popcorn* 🍿
Women?
But of course. More qualified women in tech is a good thing. Thought and style diversity is a good thing.
How can the company live on without semi qualified employees that get hired on just to meet diversity ratios!?
lmao, Amazon employee comparing women to robotic cleaning machines. hell yeah sounds right
Haha this drone over here. How's your unique identifying number badge going?
Tech trash talk... There's a hashtag I'd follow on the Twitter LOL
Luckily some of the women I've worked with are the best developers I've ever met.
And I usually find that all women, or most women, have better sense for abstraction than men.
Eh, I'd avoid saying either sex is better at something. That's just a good way to turn people off from the discussion, and it's generally based on anecdotal evidence. All I personally want is respect.
Based on research, there's more feature variance within each gender category than there is between the means of each gender -- with considerable overlap between the two.
False. Read this for real research- https://www.theguardian.com/education/2003/apr/17/research.highereducation Women on average are less hard wired for systems thinking and more hard wired for empathy and human connection.
Sounds like someone failed to get a date on a Friday night
Happily married with a beautiful wife and 2 beautiful girls. Trust me, I have plenty of finesse to get a date if I was single. I also bring a neutral view on this situation, considering I have 2 daughters that are growing up and will look for work in the future. This whole, were "victims of sexism" movement is complete and utter bull shit. I've been on plenty of interview loops before this movement started where the female candidates were compared between male competitors, and the some of the females got the job over the male, due to the SKILLS. It's unfortunate that now, under qualified candidates are selected and qualified candidates are ignored, because the company wants to meet a diversity quota. Complete and utter bullshit.
"Happily married with a beautiful wife and 2 beautiful girls. Trust me, I have plenty of finesse to get a date if I was single." I feel these two statements are at odds. How do you know this unless you've continued to cultivate said "finesse" in the "single" world while married? So many questions.
FWIW I haven't worked with any underqualified diversity hire
There's plenty in my area and I've also seen highly qualified candidate resumes ignored because they're not female. Ass hattery at its finest.
Wonder what team OP is on where this is a problem?
Roombas. Those robots are all whiny slackers.
I'll admit, that's a very close guess.
