Fitbit is not a very large org, so their round of layoffs did not make the front page. Now they seem to be having lots of outage issues following this event: https://www.theverge.com/2023/2/6/23587745/fitbit-outage-offline-wearables-backup-sync-settings I'm in some fitness groups that are heavy on using Fitbit, and let me tell you, it's a pretty heavy impact on their customers. Lots of complaints.
Fitbit customers are a bunch of entitled whiners. Service was down on Monday for like an hour or two and I saw numerous tweets about how Jill and Stephen are super pissed that their devices won’t sync. 🙄 What a time to be alive.
It was fucked for 2 days. Gave bogus data for those two days and that's not being fixed. People like me rely on the sleep data, rhr data to decide when to train, how much, whether i should wfh etc
Honestly a lot of people who rely on these trackers show OCD-like tendencies and have high anxiety when it isn't available.
Let's just say i don't remember such a thing happening before the layoffs.
