I have scheduled design round next week for sde2 at flipkart. Can anybody please help me what kind of question I can expect in design round at flipkart interview. Will it be some object oriented design question or large scale distributed design question? #systemdesign #flipkart
In design round, you can expect system design questions. In machine coding round, you can showcase your Oops design skills.
Ideally for SDE2, the main focus and scope is just the LLD which should cover the OO design, entity modelling, data modelling, end to end flow modelling, API modelling, etc. System design questions are not meant for SDE2. Though few interviewers are seens asking those questions as well for which there had been multiple call outs to be within scope. Few interviewers may want to understand what are the tech stack you have worked upon and how deep you have understanding for the same.
May i ask how did it go for you? What was asked hld or lld?
It was mainly lld for sde2, mostly covered - 1) How classes and interface looks like (class diagram) 2) How functions be defined and their implementation (algo/pseudo code) 3) Appropriate usage of design patterns
Thanks for replying.

Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
There are lot of things b/w OO design and large scale distributed systems design. For SDE2, expectation is to do low level design properly. Obviously you have to follow OO principles, proper entity modelling, data modeling etc. Question won't be very abstract in majority of the cases for SDE2 (depends on interviewer as well) but if you solve the given problem statement, they will increase scope in terms of complexity or scale or other factors. Design round discussions often depend on how you approach the question. But there will be few points that interviewer wants to discuss.
So I can expect LLD here? Or any other pointers which you can provide to prepare in short time.
