What a unique way to extend holiday greetings to VMware partners – you're on a thrilling adventure! A bold step by BC to reshape partnerships that have been enduring since day one. Let’s flush the toilet and call it a day! RIP VMware partners and a toast to Nutanix, get ready for some serious business revenue served to you on a golden platter. https://www.reddit.com/r/vmware/comments/18oql6w/vmware_partner_programs_no_more/ #vmware #vmwarepartners #broadcom #partnerships #nutanix
A terrible business does terrible things. The Broadcom acquisition will negatively the product and the workers as a whole. VirtualBox is the better tool anyways, and has the benefit of being open-source without unnecessary bloat. TC: 105K
Op, we all can relate to your current feelings but you’ll see a different perspective after a year or two. This was felt exactly the same way by some of the classic Broadcom, Brocade, Symantec and CA employees in the past but customers stuck to our products.. it’s going to be the same for VMware too
I disagree, the VMware partners were true partners in thick n thin, our collaboration and openness to commute and pivot their needs is something that BC will never entertain. At VMware, no matter how big, small or a startup our partners were, we made a mark acknowledging them and allowing them be part of the journey. I can write a book about the negative impact this has caused many of partners and those teams that were laid off as a result of this decision. So yeah, I disagree- enjoy your alliance to BC, I’m not part of that cheer squad
Ah yes, there’s that VMware exceptionalism. Please, tell us, who lived it at least once already, how your experience is completely different than what we went through. 🙄
Hock is one of the best CEOs in the world. He won't take bad business choices. So give him some time and then reassess.
Just to correct you, he is not one of the best CEOs, he might be one of the best businessmen
Op , relax and take a chill. You seem to be very upset. Take a break and cut off your self from work for few days. If BC is not the right place, be prepare and find a better job. Vmware in old form has gone, and believe it or not it was bloated. And i know many partners and partner teams within vmware , many of them were coasting and were not getting any revenue to company. Hock is direct and brutal and has no empathy for employees or partners, but he knows how to make money.
I guess the mgmt. thought process is same with previous acquisitions too - if you can make the same amount just by supporting 10 customers, why support 100? Not good for small customers, but helps reduce the operating expense for Broadcom and eventually generate the same revenue
OP letting feelings cloud logical business judgement. You’re too close to these customers so you can’t be objective.
What logic 💩 did you smoke today?
6500+ partners in vmware bringing in 13+ billion in revenue That's lot of operational overhead for vmware. What I heard is partners will be categorized (small, medium, large terminology will change) Based on customer revenue size, customers will be placed with one of small partner. A few hundred partners will remain(giving over 80% revenue even today, rest will be moved around) This will alienate some partners who in theory bring no revenue.
lol if partners bring 99% of revenue, why do we have 12,000 salespeople?
Hock is a great CEO. This sounds very unhinged.
