Hey all, I interviewed with a Google PM yesterday (phone interview) and I'm considering sending a "thank you" note. What is the general consensus on those in this process? It would have to be through LinkedIn as I don't have her email.
Send to the recruiter and ask to fwd?
This
Isn’t going to change the outcome
Yeah, I was thinking with the process being so structured it might not be necessary or make a difference. I've hired at small/medium startups and those follow-ups help!
I always did at every interview since you never know
Also may not be a good fit for that role or right now but then they reach out about another
Recruiters may pass on the thank you note to specific interviewers. It's happened to me but has no bearing on the process. You need to go through all of the interviews, the interviewers give their feedback and then it goes to hiring committee.
I don't think it would make any difference.
I got a PM offer from G. I say do it. Write a thank you for each person that interviewed you. Send it to your recruiter and ask them to forward it. 1) it's basic courtesy. they dont get much out of interviewing you 2) it makes you look good in front of the recruiter, which, isn't worth nothing
How long did it take for the interviewer to submit feedback after the phone interview?
It doesn’t change outcome. I’m at HC right now with a team match. Didn’t send one thank you note
How long did the process take to get from recruiter to where you are now?
Doesn’t help with outcome but you can pass the note to your recruiter
