Do you really feel special in your Tesla?
You can’t work employees (that are working on a social media website and specifically not on a rocket to Mars) 70 hours a week without above market TC. You’re just not going to find people that passionate about Twitter like you would for electric cars or space travel.
Want to see how the next few months play out but yes, I would work for Twitter. Most knew that twitter needed some changes that were not going to happen without a radical change in management.
There's no upside though, he overpaid so it's not like you're going to get cheap equity. They have little cash so they can't pull a Netflix. I have no objection whatsoever with working like a insane tweeker, sleeping under the desk and all that shit startup style..., but for what exactly here? Twitter has nothing to offer except a wage, no reason to kill yourself for that.
Musks wants to make a "true" independent media platform out of Twitter. This is according to his own understanding, of course, but he has a mission that he believes in. He thinks by doing so he's saving democracy, protects capitalism, etc. There will be more than a paycheck to motivate people to work there. There are enough of these who will follow the mission, and they will be good employees. They will not wait for ipo or cliff or 10% better offer to jump the ship, they will stick around.
If he’s paying above average market rates, sure.
He runs a tight ship, not for me.
Pretty sure there will be peeps who'd wanna work there. Look at Tesla. There are ppl who love to get tortured, so there definitely is a niche crowd for this.
Agreed def people who would - are they the right people to have it survive / thrive given the circumstances? I’m not sure but will be interesting to see!
Sometimes people have to work unwillingly at those companies just for the sake of f*king visa
