At some point we all got a job offer to work in America, it felt great, we told our families, we made all the necessary preparations, and made the trip. Leaving behind family, friends, and all the things we grew up with and shaped the persons we are. When arriving in America, did you embrace the culture, norms, food, etc and try to go out there and make local friends?
U know u r free to return to Begumpet, right ?
They donât. And they yell at you if you point it out. Not try to change it, just point it out. âThe bestâ immigrants.
i can't handle American culture tbh, I'm headed home... to Canada đ
Same situation. Co-workers are just rude, the concept of saying "good morning" seems too foreign for Americans
Location? Itâs probably a tech thing and not an American thing. If you go outside of tech and outside the west coast (or northeast) then you will find people much friendlier and approachable.
Some people assimilate well. Some people donât. Every person is different.
Hence the reason for the poll
Unless youâre a policymaker in government or youâre researching international and cultural studies, This poll doesnât do anything to help except waste peopleâs time.
Yes, its what I like about the US. So many different cultures, cuisines, different people. I like it!
What is american culture? Guns, beer and tities. I assimilated right away, biatch.
There is little assimilation from the primary tech demographic coming to the US. On platforms like Blind, the immigrants complain incessantly about how the US isn't like their home - the one they chose to leave.
Same everywhere. In the UK you have people complaining about everything. Waaa back in my home country we could do this. Back home we didn't have high taxes. Waaaa. So feck off back home. I'm not saying we shouldn't try to improve things, but your whinging is so annoying and does nothing but making people hate immigrants
