Big layoff there today, hope it missed everyone on here. Seems like it came out of nowhere on our end.
C'mon toocontent, spill the beans! What's going on?
Sounds like 3k are out. Doesnt look like they skipped any levels either. Idk seems safe to say this, but I don't want to dox.
That sucks. What kind of termination package did they give?
I heard 2 weeks pay but I'm not certain if that's true.
2 weeks, that’s brutal.
It’s employees all over the place at all levels and YOE. SWE on my team was cut this morning
Unfortunate to hear that. We lost some critical PoC at Ford. I am surprised they didn't pull contractors first (us). I guess maybe we aren't considered contractors, idk. But it looks like our contracts are unaffected
What’s ‘POC’ in this context?
There are plenty of jobs at Chrysler/FCA/Stellantis. Just dm for referrals.
Hello I am can you please send you email
Fwiw a few weeks ago they did announce they’re planning on big layoffs, so it wasn’t entirely out of nowhere. Still sucks though. From what I read it impacted a lot of the teams working on their internal combustion engines, as they are making the big transition to electric.
What about the self-driving division?
Hmm.. Didnt know they were planning it. Some PoC are just gone on our end, no forewarning
Was there layoff in GDIA too?
Just saw a LinkedIn post that some Canadian employees are affected by the layoff today.
Few of them from VSU too.
So they can make cars in Mexico after taking a taxpayer bailout
Is it in the Self Driving Car Division?
We don't contract w/them so idk. I won't state who we contract with though, no need to dox myself. Other than that it effected engineering
Is ford working on Fully electric self driving cars?
