Hello, I’ve been working as a Forecast/data analyst for almost 2 and half years for an aftermarket automotive company and this is my job after MBA graduation. I overlook the forecast/demand planning aspect of the company for over 100k SKUs along with all the data analysis including heavy Dashboarding using advanced excel functions, Power BI and uses Sql pretty often for ad hoc analysis. I’m looking to make a move in my career now after buying a house for my parents and getting finances on track. I think I’m highly underpaid $75k/yr in louisville, Kentucky but I’m still good on finances and able to afford a house worth $400k cuz cost of living is real cheap here. My concern is how do i make a big move? What skills should i back myself with? What are the best programmes to learn to become an entry level data scientist that can help me land a high paying job? Or is there any high paying jobs in supply chain? I’m ready to sacrifice and move solo to big cities for big pacakges. #airbnb #google #meta #lyft #amazon #apple #microsoft #uber #workday #bytedance #coinbase #doordash #twitter #linkedin #instacart #adobe #pinterest #stripe #intuit #atlassian #oracle #citadel #snap #nvidia #ebay #dell #visa #aws #tesla #mckinsey #bcg #auto #ford #generalmotors #tesla #honda #toyota #bmw
I’m a forecaster with 8 YOE in aerospace and I make 93k. So I feel like your salary is about average…
Do you think I should transition to data scientist? I’m already 27 and ready to even go to college for another masters if needed.
OP I am a forecasting analyst and I make 125k and I think I could become a data scientist and make 150k or some kind of engineer How much stats and/or automation do you know? That's the path to high TC. Are you using time series algorithms or just taking 12 month averages
