I am a Software Engineer with two years of experience, including over a year at Adobe where I worked on the Business Infrastructure team as part of a migration team from a deprecated angular code to React and modern JS. My responsibilities included developing an admin console for enterprise customers, creating microservices and UI components for shared projects, and help lead feature development for high-visibility production projects, while maintaining compatibility with legacy code. I recently completed my contract via TEKsystems and am now actively seeking full-time employment opportunities. My previous total compensation was $90k (low I know but contract). I am open to SWE I/II positions across the United States and am also interested in sales engineer roles as a potential career pivot. I am open to remote work but am also willing to relocate for the right opportunity. My desired TC is 150k+ I have a Bachelor's degree in Data Science and Cognitive Science from a T10 school and I would appreciate any referrals or resume reviews. The languages and frameworks primarily I used for work: Javascript, React, Angular, Typescript, Jest, Jasmine, Enzyme, Git, Jira, Jenkins, and async libraries such as Axios and fetch. I am particularly interested in companies that have easy and medium-level technicals, such as JP Morgan, Cisco Meraki, IBM, Amazon, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, Capital One, Facebook, Lyft, and AirBNB, as well as non-technical companies like Ford, GM, Lockheed, Northrop, Vanguard, John Deere, 3M, and Nationwide. I am not interested in companies with a reputation for lengthy and extensive interview processes. If anyone has any experience as a Sales Engineer and would be willing to chat about it over DMs, I would greatly appreciate it. #referral #layoffs #airbnb #jpmorgan #airbnb #amazon #cisco #ibm #amazon #oracle #goldmansachs #capitalone #facebook #lyft #ford #generalmotors #vanguard #nvidia #johndeerefinancial #3m #nationwide

Why sales engineer though? is it the same? how related is it to swe?
I am considering a career change to sales, especially in tech, as people have suggested it may be a good fit for my personality and technical background. Although I'm still early in my career, I am researching to determine if it is a feasible idea and is curious about what the first steps would be for someone with no sales experience. I have some experience selling my skills as a freelance developer, but I would like to know more about that industry and if other people who made the switch recommend it.
You were making 90k with 3 yoe at Adobe?
just 1 yoe at adobe (working as a contractor so you know they got 30%) but ive worked as a system administrator for two years during and after college

Quote: “ I am particularly interested in companies that have easy and medium-level technicals, such as […] Facebook, Lyft, and AirBNB” FB, Lyft and Airbnb are no where near easy/ medium. These are solid tech companies with extensive interviews.
TBF, I saw that list on Reddit so I have no validation except from anecdotes but I guess difficulty is all relative.
DM for sales engineer discussion/questions
Thanks!
Can I DM too? - I’ve built products with Twilio extensively
Hey, how do you get contract positions as a new grad? Did TekSystems reach out to you?
