Forward Deployed Software Engineer at Palantir?

Hi everyone, A recruiter hit me up about their Forward Deployed Software Engineer roles and I had some questions I was hoping to get answered (this is a cleared role) 1. What's the travel like? As in can I travel as much as I want or is it just an occasional trip? Foreign travel (like to Germany or Tokyo) or just local travel to customer sites? 2. How hard are the interviews to for the FDSE roles? Leetcode Easy hopefully? 3. Is there really almost $50k in stock per year for bonuses? 4. I've been at msft for just over a year. This is my first SWE role. Do you guys think that's enough time to make a move to a new place? Thanks everyone. YOE: 1 TC: $120k #palantir

Leetcode medium / hard, PLTR is extremely picky

Idk abt FDSE, but for SWE phone screen expect a single question (rather than 2 total LC questions like many companies do). It would be a hard question that may also deal with a data type you may not see often (e.g., timestamp) rather than primitives like string or integer.

+1, the questions are non-leetcodish. It's generally easy to understand the concept, but implementing it gets tricky and time consuming. They also grilled me on time complexity and a bunch of other things before letting me code, so only had 25 mins and wasn't able to finish.

OP did you go through with this interview?

No but considering it for the future. Possible promo at msft coming soon so I want to let that happen first

Any update Microsoft?

Did the interview for a Forward Deployed Software Engineer role. Question they asked was extremely easy. Like weirdly easy. Anyways, we went through it, I thought I did OK. They contacted me and want me to do "virtual onsite" for a forward deployed data engineer role. For what they pay, I'll go be the janitor haha.

Thanks for the update. Do you mean the technical interview for Forward Deployed SWE was easy? Easy as in LeetCode easy? You said this is your first SWE Role. Was your previous role as a Data Engineer? Could that have been why they switched you? Also you mind mentioning the pay they offered lol
