Anyone else have herniated or bulging discs and have ways to work around that during exercises? Added MRI for reference and hopefully for comparison. I dont know how severe this is. The doctor just seems to want to do injections and run up the bill.
I had(have) disc bulge in my neck. It happened in 2012 while practicing UFC. I tried physical therapy, acupuncture, western medicine but nothing helped. Finally i got some relief when i tried chiropractor. But i chiropractor might be a coincidence because it had already been close to 2 years since the injury. I feel much better now. But i have to avoid sitting and sleeping in certain positions though.
Sorry to hear that. My wife had the same problem last year and we had a tough time. Acupuncture helped her to a great extent initially and regular core strengthening is the key to keep the pressure of your back. I can provide you the details of the place if you need. FYI, it's in San Jose
Thanks! I am in san jose actually, also i added my MRI report. Not sure how severe my injury is
Go to a physical therapist. They’ll teach you to do 90/90 sitting (lay on your back with feet on a chair) and Mackenzie stretches. Abdominal and core strengthening will also help. It will take some time but your body will eventually adjust.
Seeing one now and i ll be sure to bring this up. I also added my MRI report if you have feedback
Stop right now. Don't do anything at the moment. Go read the following books: 1.) Crooked: outwitting the pain industey 2.) back mechanic by Stuart mcgill Visit chirogeek.com Please read those first before making any decisions. You are about to potentially enter a very fucked up world.
While I haven't read those resources I agree that back pain industry is fucked up and full of misinformation
Read th first one, it'll explain a lot of the industry.
Sign up for yoga and practice it everyday!
Sorry to hear. My friend has it and it got so bad he couldn't take 3 step without having to sit down. He tried chiropractor, yoga, accupunture. Nothing works so he got surgery done and is now fine. He said the pain nowaday is very light and even unnoticeable at some time.
Thanks, currently seeing chiro too, but it hasnt gotten any better. I added a MRI report for reference
Various people I know in this situation have tried back surgery. They were pain free for one year, and then the pain gradually came back to the same it was before. You might want to research what latest treatments top athletes are getting these days, for example JJ Watt.
I ll definitely be looking up JJ Watt, thanks! I also attached my MRI report if anyone has any feedback
First thing I would fix is the posture. I see so many people in office working without ergonomic support, neck down all day, bad sitting positions...many in tech industry have this problem. Always remember - health is wealth. No amount of money is worth losing your health
Based on pic it looks like you were observed to have a reduced curve in your low back. Have you had low back pain and if so for how long?
I ve only had minor back pain when bending over. But it increased during a squat session (completely stopped compression exercises ). Its been painful for a month or so now
Very sorry to hear. Mom experienced the same issue. It was quite severe and some doctors recommended surgery. But luckily she didn't go down that route and instead opted for physio. Took a long time (about 5 years) but she stuck to it. Early on she would go to physio 3-4 times a week then slowly became 1-2 times a month. All I can say is persevere and stick to the exercises assigned. Wish you all the best!
Appreciate it! I added the MRI report for reference if you happen to have seen or anything similar. I have no comparisons to base anything off. I dont know how severe this is .
Is she back to 70% 95%? I am dealing with the same. I DO NOT WANT SURGERY
