Which large tech companies you think will last 20+ years?
I am looking for suggestions on career move from Microsoft L62 to Fidelity Principal Engineer Same TC, 12 yoe (4 at MS) Not enough motivated with my current work/tech stack at MS, but Fidelity is offering me the work which I feel most passionate and motivated about. Looking for inputs if this is a right or wrong move. TC 210k for both
WLB and job security will be better. Insurance and benefits should be good. It is likely to be a 63 in terms of scope so MSFT senior. If you like the work and stack etc then I dont see anything wrong.
May I know the base offered at Fidelity ? Are you coming as Principal Software Engineer? Fidelity is definitely good in terms of Job security and WLB
Wtf. This is a step backward. Principal at Fid is like 200-250 max tc.
Why????
If you want to work to retirement, come to Fidelity!
Why did you consider fidelity for your next move? It isn't one of the supposed "reputed" companies out there, hence asked.
WTF is this "reputed" shit? Nobody cares about your "prestige" other than that disappointing person you see every morning staring back at you in the mirror. Do better.
It’s not all about reputation to be honest. This looks like two or steps above OP’s current level, which is significant. Fidelity is a well known and “reputable” financial institution, so reputation is subjective. OP, can you share the comp details for both roles? It looks promising on the surface!
