Working on a project you don’t like or working with someone who you hate?
What should I take in consideration? Should I focus more on algorithms and data structures? Is this a good decision for the future? Thanks guys in advance.
Linux, coding, and distributed systems design.
SRE has two sides. SE SRE and SWE SRE. If latter, Start with learning everything about Devops and further dive into distributed systems.
It is sad to see network engineers changing career like I did. Back in days, NE was the god of IT.
If you love networking why not just become a SWE that works on networking?
There's a team like that?
Yes, all cloud providers have teams working on load balancers, FAWs etc.
Many database engineer also moving to sre role
For SWE-SRE at G, DS & Algo.
Where to learn DS and Algo? I have decent knowledge of perl and python ( use it everyday ) I tried leetcode but usually have to look up solutions eventually.. very rarely able to solve things myself
Practical coding + Linux internals
Thanks a lot, then I have to forget Powershell 😊 I think Linux would be more relevant for FANG
Yes, learn golang.
