I wish I could afford to be like this guy after a layoff...
No kids, no mortgage, no surprise about this post
And no visa
The no kids is really the key point here. Followed by lack of mortgage.
It’s not that hard. Make sure you have a comfortable savings, don’t just throw everything in the stock market & assume you’ll float on your credit cards.
You have no idea how lucky you’re that you don’t have visa issues, mortgage, or kids…
Ah H1Bs, the lifeblood of America.
Apart from visa issues those other 2 are choices you can avoid if this is the lifestyle you want.
It’s pretty common for people to take a vacation after getting laid off & paid a severance
Is it? It'd drive me nuts until I found a new position.
Yeah, it’s pretty refreshing. Last time I got laid off I trekked around Europe & stayed with friends for a month. Felt great!
Not that hard; have no kids, no wife and mostly don’t have visa issues… and be born in a country crazy powerful passport like Canada or US or Singapore… check Meanwhile the wait time to get visitor visa is 24 months 🥲🥲🥲 fuck
Meta is paying him 4 months severance. Might as well use that money to take a paid vacation.
