Hi! What are the best alternatives to Alexa smart home? We control our outdoor/indoor cameras, doorbell, security system, HVAC, rooms with Alexa smart home app. But the app is so clunky and integration always keep dropping with smart devices. We have a mix of Alexa devices, google, and Yale. What do you use as the smart home app?
I use a concierge / majordomo, but it’s not for everyone to have someone on property 24x7.
Home Assistant if you’re down to all the manual customization. Pro is it’s free and all open source. Con is you need to figure all that resources out and pick what you like for your home/customization. You can add buttons, NFC tags, temperature/humidity detectors and make your dumb AC smart. We kept our home climate controlled for our cat on camping trips this way despite having only dumb ACs. You can set routines as elaborate as you want. It’s quite cool once it’s all set up.
If you have 300+ device Apple home is the only choice but otherwise nothing beats Alexa smart home.
Alexa app is better than Google Home app.
Currently use ring do to bias but would probably lean towards eufy since they don’t charge monthly fee for local storage
