Hi, Let’s say someone got a NI rating (not sure how that maps with LE/HV categories) and successfully comes out of coaching plan, what are the chances for getting back to Amazon in future. Is that totally out of scope and if not - Do the HR and interviewers show bias based on these ratings ? #forte
I’m in same situation, I got “needs improvement “ and manager changed my 1:1 weekly and sent out a summary email of our 1:1 stating am not meeting SDE 1 bar (last year I got exceeds expectations in my review) and another girl was put into pivot plan and sent out of company. Not sure if I’m on dev-list or not yet. But looking at all the posts looks like I’m mostly on dev list. Can someone guide how to over come this situation and get out of dev list? Or am I being a scapegoat and no matter how hard I try will I be put on pivot plan and fired in the end just to meet 10% URD limit or my org?
If you are doubtful, you are already in Dev list. This is not to scare you, but a reminder that the clock is ticking.
Just ask your manager. 50% chance you come out of dev list. Then another 50% chance you make it through PIP if you didn’t pass the dev list process. 75%+ chance you won’t be let go once entering dev list so focus on performing versus letting Blind scare you.
Please take my word of advice. Got NI in focus and LE as ratings. Put on focus for 2 months, completed all the tasks except one with small changes, manager always told I’m doing great but was thrown to PIP suddenly. So never ever think you can come out successfully, you could but never be confident on that. My first hand experience at Amazon. PIP in 7 months
Manager needs to put someone on PIP for their quota else they will be PIPed. You have been marked for the fall. Low chances of surviving. Focus on interviewing outside Amazon instead of wasting time on improving yourself at Amazon
What are some of these “far better” companies except Google, MSft? Fb is also the same..
How did you know you are in focus? Does manager explicitly tell you?
Of course
Jeez all these questions about ratings and coaching plans make me nervous as a new hire.
just wondering how its been going so far? About to start in a few weeks....
