If you’re a DoorDash PM, how is WLB there?
Also curious

Ebbs and flows. Always high intensity even during ebb periods. We have a good S&O team. If your partner is good, they can help a lot with workload (taking meetings, writing docs, XFN alignment). Personally I average 50ish hr weeks, but I also know WLB can vary drastically by team and org so take my comments with a grain of salt
Hey j have heard it’s hectic. They do a lot of experimentation. And less effort spent on doc writing which is a good thing.
Sounds amazing lol
Correct, everything is experimented. Everything. Less effort on doc writing might be relative to Amazon, but don’t be fooled, doc culture is huge at DoorDash. And the expectation is your docs are very concise and direct, and can go through several (far too many) iterations depending on the audience.
Their interview process is weird as hell. Really inexperienced people take interviews. And they know shit about what you are saying. So yes. There is a chance you are gonna get super screwed in the interview process despite being totally deserving
what was your interview like?
It’s not bad, but lots of colleagues disappearing from Slack overnight, all the time.
As in they’re getting laid off or they don’t work at night?
@Paypal I think he means they are jumping ship
I have $DASH puts. Fuck WLB.
