how much you guys focus on the technical side versus the sales stuff? the comp structure has a target bonus included in it, it makes me wonder if the CEs at GCP are little bit more sales oriented compared to AWS Solution architects who are not paid sales based bonus or have sales targets at all. can any one currently working as gcp CE comment? tc- 325k yoe - 15
Looking to jump from AWS to GCP? Curious as to why since AWS has the lions share of the market and doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
It’s mainly for the tc reasons, amazon cliff is going to hit soon , plus gcp is doing well now as well
I had a call with a recruiter a while back for a Customer Engineer Position at GCP and he made it sound like 250k TC was pushing it, have you confirmed they'll beat your 325k from Amazon?
What was the final offer from GCP?
Agree with comment from beags below. Recruiter pushing back if its higher. Probably the AWS Solution Architect and GCP Cutomer Engineer roles are not directly comparable
How did this end ?
They're more like sales / pre-sales than solution architects. They'll bring in solution architects / experts when their customers need them.
Are you sure? What is the source of your information?
I’d be very interested as well! TC 350
