What's the difference between ( Cloud Solutions Architect) and ( Customer Engineer) roles at GCP ? I see both titles on Linkedin and not sure what's the difference and if they belong to the same Org/Team. I am in AWS, and we have account SAs and Specialist SAs.
CEs are the foot warriors. SAs are generals. They both belong to sales orgs but CEs are responsible for most of the foot work - scheduling meetings, building POCs, working with customer stakeholders, etc. SAs are reserved for something bigger and work with larger accounts. CEs grow into SAs.
By Google SA do you mean Google Principal Architect (PA)? But yes basically CEs and PAs are a progression path, and in the same teams in the Google Cloud sales org
Thanks, this is helpful
A few years ago I had heard that GCP SA role was in an existential crisis / didn’t really know how it fit in to the org. Is that not the case anymore? One huge difference between AWS SA and GCP CE is CE is commission based

Do you really feel special in your Tesla?
Pretty sure Customer Engineer is just their name for the equivalent role to an AWS SA.
Nope.
