Received an offer for a sales role at GCP for L6 - 325K TC. 250K OTE and 75K stock per annum. Looks completely ridiculous to me and more surprisingly recruiter seems to be in no mood to negotiate. I am super happy at AWS and no reason to move, unless for a sizeable bump in comp. I am an L6 at AWS With TC 330. If super happy then why try to fix things not broken? Btw I m ex-Google and they can stretch to 350 for L6 that’s all without competing offers

I am thinking of my next move and don’t want to join MS . So the only other option is GCP. But if they lowball, then I am stuck here. Always good to have options.
@OP What is the point of your post? Are you looking for reassurance? Why move if you are happy with your current role? Think about the driving factors? Google is not going to negotiate unless you have competing offers. Looks like an high L4 offer to me
The point is to understand if if the numbers are way off or at least in the ballpark for L6. I am not looking for reassurance. Why move - as I said, though happy, will move for a higher comp
Keep in mind sales and SDE are on different bands. There are tons of L6 sales reps and sales engineers.
GCP pays less than AWS in general - usually the accelerater is larger on over performance vs quota. The base/variable split is also usually 40/60 rather than 60/40 which is less desirable. Look for the very real opportunity of reaching L7 as an enterprise AM at AWS instead
What is TC for L7 in Enterprise at AWS?
In my experience GCP pays better than AWS - I got 30% increase without competing offers or heavy negotiating. AWS SA to CE in GCP.
How much of that 250k is base?
150K
Commercial? SMB? 250 OTE w/150 base doesn’t work mathematically on how we do splits in enterprise.
