I need to choose between a MSFT L64 IC offer and Intel G10 equivalent manager role at a startup. Assuming same TC, which one would you choose? Also, is MSFT L64 equal to Intel G8 or G9? Thanks! YOE 17 MSFT offer TC 275, Startup offer TC 300 MCOL area
Is msft remote
No.. it is hybrid
Of the 10 or so friends I know all throughout Microsoft, no one has issues working fully from home. Most of them are in teams that would let them work full remote across the US too
Microsoft 64 is the high level at Sr band. Not easy to move to principal unless u becoming manager which makes it easier. Also negotiate on RSU before joining!
Any stats on how many L64 and L65 are there in Microsoft? How many move to L65 and how many quit at 64? Asking since you say it is not easy to move to principal
Thousands of 64 and thousands of 65! :) the one that is that hard is partner level which is 68
I’m still trying to figure out if G9 at Intel is equivalent to 64 or 65 at MSFT. Hoping anyone who moved from Intel to MSFT can chime in.
Look at levels fyi. It's a down level.
L64 is ~equivalent to Intel G8 or so.
Isn’t 275 low for L64 ?
MCOL

Do people underestimate E6 role at meta?
If you are used to the manager life, go for that. Ppl at L64 are still expected to make impact to get to L65, which is principal level.
